After reading Amelia's response, I also realize that the novel doesn't talk about APa after he went back to Korea. I also become wonder what happened to APa in Korea. Does he remaried? I also agree with Amelia that the whole family become happier and more peacefull after APa went back to Korea. The novel doesn't give a closure for the marriage between Young Ju's parents. Did they remain married or divorce? I hope they get divorce and her mother find someone who would treat her nicely. I think uhmma had never been treated nicely that I really hope something good happened to her own life. When I read that a woman picked Apa from the jail, I wonder who was that woman? Did he had an affair in AMerica? Is that why he's been treating his family badly? The novel suppose to tell more about the woman. Overall, this story tells me what obstacles that immigrants would counter when moving to a new country.
