When I read Amelia’s reaction toward the last part of book, Step from Heaven. I agreed with her reflection because the family was living peaceful and happy. Young Ju and her brother also had their own responsibility; they worked for the weekend to support their mom who was working three different jobs at the time. Young Ju and Joon were very seriously for their future Young Ju got a scholarship and Joon was willing to help his mother. The family bought a new house through the money that they saved all those years. When Young Ju called the police she made it the right choice and saved her mother’s life. The life without Apa is peaceful and much better. They sure do miss him but they most prefer without him because he was alcoholic and despondent. But, their mom was an amazing woman who when through difficult situations and never complained about it. She was always hiding her problems even though if her abusive husband beat her every day.
