Response posting #6 (from Po-Kai)

____From “Why I Want a Wife,” Brady writes about why she wants a wife, too. She points out that a tradition wife should take care of all her husband’s needs. A wife needs to work full time for her husband to go to school, and also needs to pick up children, laundry, and clean house and prepare meals. A wife also needs to help her husband to deal with his social life. Brady also adds that a wife needs to cope with her husband’s sexual needs carefully. Beside these duties of a wife, man also have right to change a new wife when they found a more suitable one, and wife cannot have any complain with her husband’s decision.
____It is ridiculous, which the first thought in my mind after reading this article. I cannot imagine that wives need to sacrifice themselves so much for their family. Also, I don’t understand why a man have right to take all household responsibilities without any complain. According to this article, I felt that Brady did a lot for her family or husband, and that’s why she can give us so many examples that a wife should to do. She tries to indicate unequal treatment between man and woman in the United States. She also tries to educate audiences woman needs to talk with their husband about sharing the household responsibilities. In our country, custom or tradition, man should take all major responsibilities for supporting his family. Man needs to go out to work and let his wife to go to school. Man needs to clean house, laundry, pick up children and prepare meals when his wife tired to do that. In Chinese custom, a family is owned by every family member, so everyone in this family have obligation to keep their family completed. Man should take more duties because he has strong physical.
