Response of WHY I WANT A WIFE from Sunghoon Park

Brady, the writer of WHY I WANT A WIFE, described that what is the figure of an ideal wife in a home and what they do in a home. But in this essay, she showed the paradox that she pretended as a husband. She wrote that figures of wives in home are that they should take care of and have responsibilities of all household chores such as they have to prepare the meals for their husband and children, clean up all area of home and keep clothes clean of all members of family. If a wife has no job and stays in home, she has to have responsibilities to take care of household chores. In this essay, however, there is different situation, because she would like to get a job. If so, the ratio of duty in a home is not fair between a husband and a wife. Because both have a job and support their family with their salary, they also should share the household chores with each other. A wife is not perfect person as a husband. Even though, a wife has three jobs as a wife of husband, a mother of children, and a housemaid of a family, most husband expect that a wife accomplish all three jobs perfectly. They also would like to take a rest during the weekend and want to eat food of someone’s cooking.
After I read this essay, I felt that a husband in a home was guided by self-interest. Once a husband got his home from his work place, he seemed that his responsibilities and his duties in a home were disappeared. Thai is, he entrust his wife with full powers about household chores. This essay gave me a lot of things to think about being great husband to a wife and children.
