The article of “Why I want a wife” by Judy Brady describes what kind of a wife that a husband want to have. Some of the criteria are a wife who can send him to school through working and while he is going to school, he wants her to take care of the children, he also wants a wife who always keep the house clean, he wants a wife who will not complain about a wife’s duties, he wants a wife who will take care of his social life, and he wants her wife sensitive to his sexual needs. Husbands want a perfect wife that can do everything. I agree that there are some parts that a wife should do because she has responsibilities to take care that parts. However, a wife cannot do everything by herself. She also has limitation, such as her time, social life, emotional, physical, etc. The first example that Judy mentioned is that a wife should work to support a husband to go to school, while she also must take care of the children. This is not making sense. I know that two income is needed in this century, but asking a wife to support full financially is not wife’s responsibility. Because she should take care of the children who need full attention too. Cleaning the house also is not only a wife who can do that. A husband can help a wife to do some of the house cleaning, so that a wife can do anything else that is more useful. If a husband wants a wife like these criteria, there is a probability that a wife will complain. And by the time she is complaining, she must be in a stressful mood. From this reason, it will impossible to be sensitive for his sexual needs. For me, I do not agree with these criteria that a husband wants, because I think a perfect marriage is helping each other through doing most of the responsibilities together.
