Response to Vonny Sukri (from Sunghoon Park)

Vonny Sukri thought that Young-Ju’s parents and Samchon believed that there were many jobs, opportunity to make money, and high quality education in America. Therefore, they believed that America was a heaven. In these reason, Young-Ju’s parents decided to immigrate to America for family and for her daughter. On the other hand, Sukri wrote that many people who immigrate to America were possessed with the illusion about immigration. Namely, these people believed that once they went to America, they could make more money and get jobs easier than their own country. She argued that there were much violence, poverties, sadness, and other problems to encounter in America. She also supported that many people who immigrate to America became homeless, because they could get jobs in this country. Moreover the people, who had great job and earned high income in Indonesia, gave up all his/her reputation in Indonesia and went to America to get better job and live better life in this country. But he/she could not make dream in America and went back to native country. However, I insist that these are not general reason but specific reason, because all countries in the world have homeless people, violence, and poverties, even if it is a developed country such as America, England and Japan. Still now, a large number of people emigrate to America from their native country, because at least there are still more opportunities to success than their country, namely there are bigger probabilities to success than their country. I strongly determine that Young-Ju’s parents made good decision for family and for their daughter.
