Response to YUKI suzuki from YUKI shimizu

Now that women is getting power with harmony with equality of sex, the thought Apa used to have (may still have) is in the history. However, man still has such power or pride toward women in Asian country. In the country which is a country of freedom, America, the number of administrators or managers of men is still dominant against women. However, it is pretty sure that the writer wants to give us some kinds of message from this book about the power which women have. Not only that, she also want to tell us something about what we should do to live in the US, that is, adjusting our view point, on the other word, throwing away old thoughts and lifestyle. I think that Apa is still Korean who has just immigrated and he acted as he is a Korean American by going the church and so on. In reality, he thinks just like Korean, speak just like Korean, and behave just like Korean. Although I agree that it is so difficult to change own personality and behavior, he should have to adjust his thought to American as long as he moved to the US. I do not mean that he had to give up his culture but I mean he should have compromise to American culture.
In the world, there are so many diverse nationalities. Being here gave us the chance to know how to treat people who have a difference culture, value, and viewpoint. There may be no correct and wrong answer and we have to be flexible and show respect to others in the world. As one of an international person who had a good chance to know two country, we would like to do what we can do as you said.
