response #5 to Amelia from Sunghoon Park
Similarity to Amelia, after Young-Ju’s father made decision to go back to Korea, Young-Ju’s mother, Young-Ju, and Joon-Ho had a firm determination to live in America. Even Young-Ju’s mother had there jobs to support her family, Young-Ju and her brother worked at the ice-cream store to release their mother’s burden. Furthermore Young-Ju gain scholarship from her college and Joon-Ho also helped to his mom and sister for family. I am also very impressed that these three members of park’s family changed to be better life with helping each other. They showed me that how to strong to live in foreign country and how to save money if I don’t’ have enough money. However, as Amelia thought, there are shortage story about young-Ju’s fathers behind story. I think that the story need what happen to Young-Ju’s father when he went back to Korea, and what was the relationship between he and Young-Ju’s mother. Did they divorce her husband? Did they just still live separately between Korea and America? Who was the woman who picks up Young-Ju’s father when he was released from custody? So, I think that there are some trailing stories about Young-Ju’s father. Basically, this story showed me the process that how to overcome their immigrant hardship life in America well.
