Response to Vonny Sukri

I would like to write a response toward Vonny Sukri. One interesting aspect of reading is the chance to know new things. It may be the experience I have not had, may be totally opposite way of thinking, or may be the same situation which I was confront. The article and essay written by someone who has a different culture or background with me are even more intriguing and sophisticated to me.
Governments have own policy in education. The feeling toward education differs from person to person. The education may be essential to be well off in Indonesia and the United States as you described in your essay. I have to admit that the same thing is going on in Japan. People believe that better education lead to better job and better life. I think that may be true for someone because those who have high level education can make more money than who does not have. However, personally I do not want to believe that education makes life rich because money cannot makes life happy, but money may steal time to spend family. I agree about your impression toward the United States. I too realized that "America" is not heaven because they have violence, recial and religious conflict, financial huge gap between gap, and tons of other problems. However, I love being here. I love to stay here as much as possible and I am enjoying being studing in OSU. If I was asked the reason why I love here so much, I would not be able to answer. Although "america" has much crime than Japan (my home country) and I miss Japanese food and culture, I love here more than Japan. I think that in America we have much, much more chance to be successful than any other country on the world. I know that high education related to the job in which you can get high income also, I know that the world is unfair. Yet, I want to believe that " America" has more "door" to be successful if you have make a hard effort to do that. When I apply to OSU, I asked to get if any kind of scholarship is avialble or not, their answer is "NO". even if I had a straight "A" in a class because I am an international student.. I though that is not fair and I was really in a bad mood to come here. However, rejecting to get the scholarship made me to study hard now and made me feel to beat American student academically. So let's have a fun and study hard!!
